Some spiral into the pump body and tin can be very hard to get to. I would wait until y'all tin tell the states what you accept before yous have it to a store. No sense paying the shop charge per unit just to change a filter.

Merely got a copy of our owners manual and says to alter every 450 hours and we have merely less than 200 hours on it and so we may be ok to become for a while...

I remember someone a while back saying this model has 2 (ii) fuel filters(?) and when he went to change his Onan told him he is at present only required to have one fuel filter on it now and they gave him a plug(?) for the other fuel filter?

parts and manuals for your genset are on this page

your genset is a HGJAB spec letter D the spec alphabetic character is of import when ordering parts

society the service manual it is the same we use in the shop it will come up in handy

they are doing away with the filter at the carb as at that place are two filters one at the fuel pump and one at the carb. they have a fitting to replace the one at the carb.
I only left the 1 at the carb lone for the past 3 years as the one underneath in forepart of the fuel pump catches everything.

Posted By: M GO Blueish on 03/14/x 05:23pm Thanks again kg5388...

Was I right in saying that the fuel filter(s) only need to be changed every 450 hours?

Also when nosotros go to the 450 hour marker you're saying I only demand to supervene upon the fuel filter at the fuel pump and just leave the other one there (or should I get the fitting for that one)?

Ok I have the specs:

ONAN 5500W MARQUIS GOLD GAS GENERATOR
HGJAB-1038D

Posted By: RJCorazza on 03/15/10 02:58am Although I left the factory filter at the carb, I added an in line bowl-type filter with replacable cartridge last year. Information technology'southward got a valve to close off the fuel during changing, and I can (easily) tap into the fuel line to run a gallon of gas / SeaFoam on occasion.
Posted By: Public Guardian on 03/14/10 11:31pm I have the fuel filter that screws directly into the generator on one cease and a hose terminate on the other. It was very hard to get to and really hard lining up a new one to get it screwed back in. I got information technology in but I also added an inline fuel filter into the hose line going into the fuel filter. It will exist much easier to change the inline filter than mess with the Onan fuel filter. DES
